“My Dog and I Design Heart Defects” is the poetic debut of the author Marko Jovanovic from Novi Sad, a unique poetic dialogue, but actually a soliloquy and a companion with his best friend, his dog. The author is sometimes deeply introspective, sometimes prosaic and humorous, touching us with satire and drawing us into his own dreams of revolution, family, poetry, and a possible playful world, while at

other times teasing himself and us, bringing us down to earth with the harsh reality of moments when cafes are empty, dogs no longer bark, and streets are covered in silence.
